Owner of the longest surname in Ireland, Esther O’Moore Donohoe a.k.a Esther Two Names, is a writer and podcaster (who isn’t?) from Dublin.
Esther started The 80%, back when no one fully understood what they were and now her local Spar, dry-cleaner and cousin’s dog all have one. On The 80%, she is eighty per cent happy for the success of her guests who have included Amy Huberman, Doireann Garrihy, James Kavanagh, Melanie Morris, Emer McLysaght, Sarah Breen, Caroline O’Donoghue, Daithi O’Se, Ian Dempsey, Neil Delamere, Aisling Bea, Colm O’Regan and Eleanor Tiernan to name but 13. She has done 73 in total and has yet to sell out Vicar Street or even her local Scout Hall. Ne’ermind. Her personal brand is ‘Blind Optimism’.
When she’s not podcasting, Esther is an experienced and successful voice-over artist and was station voice for 2FM. She has featured on major campaigns for a number of brands including Sky TV, Audi, McVities, Rabo Bank, Danone, AIB, Aer Lingus, Ryanair, Costa Coffee, Lidl, Safefood, Jobbio, Oxfam and The Irish Examiner, to name but a few, and is exceptional at doing the ‘terms and conditions apply’ bit at the end of ads.
Before it closed down, Esther hosted her own show ‘Saturday Lunch’ on TXFM which performed well in the JNLRs during her time there. FURTHERMORE, she is 5ft11 so is useful to have around if you need something taken down from a high shelf. She studied long-form improv at the renowned U.C.B Theatre in New York and when the mood hits her, does stand-up.
Because that is what one does.
